Work In Progress:
• "It's Not About Me: The Essence of Christianity"

Background: Most of you have known me either in person or through my weather website for many years. I started my website back in 2001, but I incorporated little or nothing about God or my Christian beliefs into it for the first 6 or 7 years of its existence. Although I have gone to church since I was born, was saved at the age of 11 and never was one to do much in the way of rebelling, I don't feel like I started to grow somewhat closer to God until I reached my early 20s. I really didn't talk much about my beliefs outside of church and, as I look back, I wonder what opportunities I may have missed. In the summer and fall of 2007, I felt like God was leading me to start to share my beliefs more with others, but how would I go about doing that? Suddenly it occurred to me that I already had a great outlet that I wasn't using--my weather website! Out of that epiphany came the Bible Verse of the Day, which I did throughout most of 2008. In the late summer and fall of 2008 I started to grow much, much closer to God, and it has been an incredible journey. I felt led to expand what I was sharing with others, and that is what I have begun to do with this new section of my website.

Everything you see on this website has been written by me, unless otherwise noted. Also, unless otherwise noted, all Scripture has been taken from the New King James Versionฎ, Copyright ฉ 1982, Thomas Nelson, Inc. All rights reserved.

"Re" Mission Statement: My primary mission is to remind people how God wants us to live, reinforce that message with my own commentary relating the Bible to the present day world, and help people to renew and refresh their relationship with God.

Introduction: While it is important for all Christians to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the unsaved, I feel like my primary gift and calling, at least at this point in my life, is to reach out to those who are already saved but who are not living a true godly life. I realize that the vast majority of the people who look at this website are older than I am. Because of that, I try to be careful and not act like I know any more than anyone else. However, I do believe that God has blessed me with a rare gift of wisdom at a rather young age; I am very thankful to Him for that and I want to do my best to share that wisdom with others. There are certainly people who know far more about the Bible than I do. I may even get something wrong on occasion (and if you think I do, please let me know). But I do feel led by the Spirit of God to share the things He has taught me with as many people as I can.

I hope "Living A Godly Life" helps you to do just that. I want to be encouraging, I want to make you think, but most importantly, I want to help keep you focused in the right direction in a fallen world that seems to be moving farther and farther away from God and godly living. While I obviously hope to reach non-believers, too, my main focus is on Christians, because I believe there is a significant number of Christians who are not experiencing all God has to offer, as I myself did for at least ten years of my life. If you would like to contact me for any reason or with any suggestions you may have, please use the link under "Daily Devotions". May God bless you and guide you in your daily life!
